Kamryn's 1st Birthday!

Boy has this last year flown by, and boy has it been an amazing year! I can't believe our baby girl is already one year old! It's exciting and sad at the same time. We feel like she's growing and changing so much. Not a day goes by that she doesn't do something new. At a year Kamryn is saying "mama", "dadda", "Ryee" (for our beagle, Rylee), and babbles a lot. She waves, gives high fives, points at things, claps when you tell her to, plays patty cake and peek-a-boo, pulls her hair because she thinks it's funny, dances-she's got some moves, walks behind her buggy that she loves to push around, pulls up to everything and take steps while holding on, and watch out because she is a crawling machine! She is getting so fast that it's hard to keep up with her!
We have also recently stopped nursing. Kamryn and I both decided that we were going to wean off the nursing and go right to Organic whole milk in her sippy cup. She was wanting to make the adjustment and I am glad that we are done with it. I absolutely loved the bond that I had with her while nursing, but it was time to be done. My goal was to make it to a year, and we did it! She really is growing into such a big girl!
When we took her in for her 12 month check up she was feeling a little under the weather and running a small fever, so she did not get her 12 month vaccinations. We had to make another appointment for her to go back in to get those when she's feeling better. At her check up she weighed 17 pounds 10 ounces and was in the 5th%, and was 28 inches long and in the 19th%. The doctor said she was still a little peanut, but was very healthy. She is still wearing some 9 month clothes, but has started getting into 12 month clothes which are still a little big on her. For her birthday she got so many nice gifts--a tent with a tunnel, a buggy, a princess ride and push along, books, puzzles, blocks, balls, Husker gear, clothes, a Barney doll, a teddy bear, a swing for outside, a new dolly, and so much more! We are so thankful to have Kamryn in our lives. She brings us so much joy and happiness, and not a day goes by that we don't thank God for this amazing blessing He has given us! Kamryn, you are so very loved. Happy one year baby girl!!

She loves her Griz and Gramz!

Grandma and Grandpa Visits

My parents both planned to come down to Oklahoma to see Kamryn around her birthday. We were so excited that we were able to hang out with them back to back weekends! When my mom was in town we went to OKC and shopped at the outlet mall, went to watch the Husker gymnastics team compete against OU in Norman, made a heart birthday cake for Kamryn, and just had some quality time to hang out together! It was such a great time and we can't wait to see Grammy again in March when we go to Omaha.
My dad and his significant other, Sandy (Nona), came the following weekend. This was their first trip to Oklahoma and I think they had a great time! Kamryn was so excited to see them and loved playing with her Grandpa--he's such a silly guy and makes lots of funny noises that made Kami laugh!! We had plans to go to the park and hang out, but the weather didn't cooperate with our plans. It was very cold and we even got some snow the day after Grandpa and Nona left. So we're hoping next time they come it will be warmer so we can play outside! Thanks for coming Grandpa and Nona, we can't wait to see you in March! Here are some pictures from both of their visits.

Merry Christmas 2011

My mom, sister, and Aunt Connie all came to Oklahoma the day after Christmas! This was my sister and Aunt Connie's first time to visit and it was so great seeing all of them! Here are a few pictures from their visit!

We had such a great Christmas! This was Kamryn's first Christmas and she had so much fun! She was around all of her cousins, (all 10 of them!), and they had a great time being together. As you can imagine, there was a lot of fun, craziness having 11 kiddos under the age of 10 running around the house! We are so thankful that everyone was able to get together this Christmas! We hope that everyone had a very blessed and merry Christmas!

'Tis the Season

This year we went to The Christmas Train in Pryor, Oklahoma. We were told by friends that it was something we had to experience around Christmas time. It was set up like an old west town with lots of Christmas lights and was so pretty to walk around and see everything. They had people dressed up like old time sheriffs and other western "cowfolk," (for lack of a better word). They even had old time food, Danen had cowboy stew that was awesome, and I had the chili which was very yummy! Kamryn got to go on her first carousel ride and loved it, got to see Santa and did GREAT, and at the end of the night we all got to ride on the Christmas train! It was such a neat experience riding on an old steam train, while listening to the story of the life of Christ. It was all put on by a church in Oklahoma, called Church on the Move, and it was definitely something our entire family enjoyed and will go back to again! Here are some pictures from our night.

All bundled up--it was a cold night!!

Cousin Camp 2011

This year was Kamryn's first Cousin Camp. Every summer my mother-in-law puts together a camp for all her grandkids! She is so creative and always has something fun planned for the kiddos. They do all sorts of fun things, like relay races, games, a pirate treasure hunt, movie and popcorn, bowling, arts/crafts, tie dying, and much more! This year Kamryn was a little too young to partake in the activities, but she did get a cute Cousin Camp t-shirt! The kids all had so much fun and I already can't wait for next year's Cousin Camp! Here are some pictures from camp.

Ok, so I know I haven't posted on here in a while, and I don't even have an excuse. I'm just slacking in the blog department. This is what we've been up to. In the middle of April we went to Omaha for my friend Jenn's wedding that I was in. It was so nice to be able to go and visit family and friends. Unfortunately, I didn't think we got to stay long enough (only 3 days), so I am going back with Kamryn in the middle of June. I still have friends that haven't gotten to see her yet, and of course, my family is very anxious to see her again!
We have also finally found a church here in Broken Arrow that is very close to our home- First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. We are so happy that we have finally found a church where we can meet new people and worship with God. We have already met some wonderful couples and feel so blessed that God has led us to where we're supposed to be.
Other than that, things have been pretty uneventful, other than just settling in and relaxing in our new home. Slowly but surely we have been updating and making changes to the house, or I should say, Danen has been making changes. He sure is Mr. Handyman and I am so proud of him and his "skills." So far, in the house, he has replaced a bathroom faucet and kitchen faucet, installed a new toilet, put in 2 new ceiling fans, changed out door knobs, refaced the cover of our fireplace, and the list goes on. . . We will eventually get there with more time and money! Here are some pictures of the house and how we've settled in so far. There are also some pictures of Kamryn (I can't resist). She is 15 weeks old now and I cannot believe how quickly she is growing and changing. I notice something new or different about her everyday. She is starting to become more vocal now and is getting a little temper on her. . . wonder where she gets that from :) She definitely lets us know when she is hungry, with unending, loud crying! In fact the other night when Danen and I were in our Bible study, I got a phone call, and the first thing I heard was her crying, and knew right away that I needed to get down to the nursery for their sake! Of course, she was hungry and was fine once she had eaten. Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I will be able to get on here more frequently with updates on what's going on in our lives!
